Dear Jesse: The Language of the Law / by Eric Keener

I wonder if you've ever felt like I have - that upon meeting a "back slid" believer or feeling that I'm the one who "has fallen", a feeling of contempt for them/me?  Have we felt a sense of superiority or distance from their/our entanglement?  If we do this long enough, we get into a place, especially in the church of the western mindset, where it is very difficult to return...that our judgement is so ingrained that we consciously or unconsciously resist the promptings of correction of Holy Spirit?

I don't want to get into the "Baptist" positioning of "well, they were never saved".  I saw a man lose his marriage over this.

Yet, Paul says in Galatians 5:4;

"You have been severed from Christ, you who are seeking to be justified by law; you have fallen from grace."

Wow... honestly think through how many people, how many congregations of Jesus are totally driven by "the law of circumcision", that is, the Language of the Law of Moses?.

Take yesterday's reading and re-read Galatians chapters 1 to chapter 5:15.  Why?  Let Holy Spirit talk to you before we jump into the "Standards of Galatians", the fruits of the flesh and the fruits of the Spirit.

We need to soak into understanding those enticed or trapped by Law and apply Acts 10:28 and reorient our actions/thoughts toward the restoration of the church of the western mindset, as well as welcoming truly new believers into the Kingdom.
